The Project consists of 2 adjacent projects: Package 1 - Torpedo Building Preservation Improvements and Package 2 - Reconstruction of the Pier E-2 Parking Lot Site on Yerba Buena Island, in the City and County of San Francisco.

Package 1 - Torpedo Building Preservation Improvements - Work includes removing and replacing existing corrugated metal roof and existing wood fascia trim, removing and repairing offsite all existing wood windows, trims, hardware and replace existing single glazing with new single glazing to match, remove existing barn doors and replace with new aluminum storefront frames and insulated windows and doors, install new plywood framed window protection cover attached to repaired windows. Refer to Bid Book Volume 2 of 3 for the technical specifications related to Package 1.

Package 2 - Pier E-2 Improvements - Reconstruction and expansion work of the Pier E-2 parking lot includes excavation, concrete curbs, gutters and sidewalks, pavement section, signing and striping, construction of a concrete utilidor to carry utilities, utility lines including storm, sanitary sewer including new lift station, potable water including fire hydrant, electrical and communication lines, connections to existing City systems, storm water treatment facilities, erosion control, landscaping, fences, gates and railing, and a pre-fabricated modular bathroom with drinking fountain. Refer to Bid Book Volume 3 of 3 for the technical specifications related to Package 2.

Quotes for Services and Supplies requested for the following items for bid including, but not limited to: Demolition, Concrete Restoration, Metal Fabrication, Rough Carpentry, Flashing And Sheet Metal, Metal Roofing, Joint Protections, Overhead Coiling Doors , Aluminum Framed Storefront, Historical Wood Window Restoration, Door Hardware, Glazing, Paints And Coatings, Trees, Temporary Traffic Control, SWPPP, Earthwork And Landscape , Aggregate Bases, Bioswales And Bio-Retention Basins, Reinforced Grass Paving ., Pond Liners, Plastic Pipe, Miscellaneous Drainage Facilities, Prepackaged Sanitary Sewer Pump Station, Markings, Fences, Electrical Systems, Water Services

We are signatory to both the Carpenters Collective Bargaining Agreement and the Laborers Collective Bargaining Agreement.  Certification of insurance for General Liability and Workers’ Compensation are required.  A Waiver of Subrogation will also be required with all Subcontract Agreements. Subcontractors’ faithful performance and payment bonds in the amount of the subcontract price will be required.  Reasonable market rate bond premium will be reimbursed by Thompson Builders Corporation.

Our estimating department is available for assistance with bonding, lines of credit, insurance, equipment, supplies and/or materials. The Small Business Administration (www.sba.gov ), the California Dept. of General Services (www.dgs.ca.gov) and U.S. Dept. of Transportation Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (www.osdbu.dot.gov ) may also be able to offer financial assistance and/or information regarding insurance and bonding. Small businesses including DVBEs are encouraged to look at Caltrans California Construction Contracting Program Website for possible bonding assistance.
