Project: Construction of Operations Control Center Modernization

The plans and specifications for this project may only be obtained by signing the “SSI Non-Disclosure Agreement Form”. Please fill out the Request for third party non-disclosure agreement Form included in this solicitation as Attachment 2- and send to chorton@bart.gov and cc claytonf@tbcorp.com and kelseyh@tbcorp.com to obtain the NDA Form from BART. This NDA Form must be turned in no later than 4pm on July 3rd. Once completed, plans and specifications are available to view or purchase at BART’s Oakland, CA office or are available to view or copy at Thompson Builders Novato, CA office(Electronic copies are prohibited). The work includes: BART’s OCC is past its useful life and needs renewal and upgrades to facilitate two of BART’s key projects: Communications Based Train Control (CBTC) and BART Silicon Valley Phase II (BSVII). The Modernization of the OCC project will provide upgrades that include CBTC specific infrastructure for Automatic Train Supervision (ATS) training, testing, and to provide new workstation consoles for the rail operators. 3 large LED display screens will provide the necessary improvements to monitor the BART system. A complete remodel of the OCC space.

Quotes for Services and Supplies requested for the following items for bid including, but not limited to: Demolition, Asbestos Remediation, Lead Remediation, Metals, Casework, Waterproofing, Insulation, Cementitious Fireproofing, Firestopping, Joint Protection, Metal Doors And Frames, Glazing, Plaster, Gypsum Board, Acoustical Panel Ceilings, Resilient Sheet Flooring, Access Flooring, Painting, Signage, Glazed Interior Wall And Door Assembles, Lockers, Blinds, Wet-Pipe Sprinkler System, Clean Agent Fire Extinguishing System, Plumbing, Heating Ventilating And Air Conditioning, Electrical

We are signatory to both the Carpenters Collective Bargaining Agreement and the Laborers Collective Bargaining Agreement.  Certification of insurance for General Liability and Workers’ Compensation are required.  A Waiver of Subrogation will also be required with all Subcontract Agreements. Subcontractors’ faithful performance and payment bonds in the amount of the subcontract price will be required.  Reasonable market rate bond premium will be reimbursed by Thompson Builders Corporation.

TBC is willing to discuss breaking down bid items into economically feasible units for minority participation. Our estimating department is available for assistance with bonding, lines of credit, insurance, equipment, supplies and/or materials. The Small Business Administration (www.sba.gov ), the California Dept. of General Services (www.dgs.ca.gov) and U.S. Dept. of Transportation Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (www.osdbu.dot.gov ) may also be able to offer financial assistance and/or information regarding insurance and bonding.
