General work description: The work consists in general of approximately 2.8 miles of Class II and Class IV bikeway along University Avenue between Estrella Avenue and 70th Street within the City of San Diego and the City of La Mesa and approximately 0.25 miles of Bike Boulevard improvements on Estrella Avenue between Orange Avenue and University Avenue. Roadway improvements are required to accommodate the bikeway. Features include raised concrete medians, concrete curb & gutter, asphalt concrete dike, bus islands, a protected intersection, street lighting, traffic signal modifications and other traffic safety measures linked to signage and striping.
