Seeking City of Salinas LBE-5% and DBE Participation

Scope of Services In general, Phase 2B work shall include but not limited to mobilization, demobilization and general conditions; dewatering; site clearing and access road maintenance; demolition,; sheeting and shoring; excavation, backfill and engineered fill under structures; access road improvements; new pipes, concrete for IPS, diversion structure, stormwater lift station, electrical building and generator structure; miscellaneous structural steel ladders; electrical control building; aluminum and FRP grating and handrail; mechanical components including pumps, valves, slide gates, flow meter and miscellaneous items; electrical/instrumentation including transformer, Main Switch Board and Medium Voltage equipment, VFDs, PLC panels and SCADA programming and start-up; site electrical and material installation; diesel generator, and all incidental and appurtenant improvements and restorations specified on the Plans and herein these Special Provisions.

Quotes for Services and Supplies requested for the following items for bid including, but not limited to: 221310 - Water Supply and Irrigation Systems, 236210 - Industrial Building Construction, 236220 - Commercial and Institutional Building Construction, 238190 - Other Foundation, Structure, and Building Exterior Contractors, 238290 - Other Building Equipment Contractors, 238390 - Other Building Finishing Contractors, 561790 - Other Services to Buildings and Dwellings, 93662 - PUMPS AND PUMP ACCESSORIES MAINT./REPAIR, 72000 - PUMPING EQUIPMENT AND ACCESSORIES, 221320 - Sewage Treatment Facilities, 221300 - Water, Sewage and Other Systems. We are signatory to both the Carpenters Collective Bargaining Agreement and the Laborers Collective Bargaining Agreement.  Certification of insurance for General Liability and Workers’ Compensation are required.  A Waiver of Subrogation will also be required with all Subcontract Agreements. Subcontractors’ faithful performance and payment bonds in the amount of the subcontract price will be required.  Reasonable market rate bond premium will be reimbursed by Thompson Builders Corporation.

TBC is willing to discuss breaking down bid items into economically feasible units for minority participation. Our estimating department is available for assistance with bonding, lines of credit, insurance, equipment, supplies and/or materials. The Small Business Administration (www.sba.gov ), the California Dept. of General Services (www.dgs.ca.gov) and U.S. Dept. of Transportation Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (www.osdbu.dot.gov ) may also be able to offer financial assistance and/or information regarding insurance and bonding.
